Valentine's Day postcard titled "Valentine's Plaint" featuring an Art Nouveau woman with flowing brown hair surrounded by red heart-shaped flowers and sweet peas in pastel tones, holding a purple bouquet. Verse reads: "Though other hearts surround you / My heart's for you a shrine / Oh! give my acheing heart it's due / And be my Valentine." Published by John Winsch, copyright 1912. Printed in Germany. Used — mailed from Toronto, February 1914, addressed to Miss Ida McLaughlin, Govan, Saskatchewan.
