  • Left panel features the MacLeod clan coat of arms: two red bulls as supporters, castle on shield, motto “Murus Aheneous” (A Brazen Wall) above and “Hold Fast” below
  • Descriptive text panel details the castle’s history: founded by Leod, son of Olave the Black; tower built c. late 15th century with permission of James IV; extended by Rory More during reign of James VI
  • Notes historic contents: chain-armour suits, sword of Rory More, Fairy Room, bedroom of Dr. Samuel Johnson and Sir Walter Scott
