Real photo postcard (RPPC) of grain elevators and railway at MacGregor, Manitoba, Canada, circa 1908. No. 814 series. Published by Winnipeg Photo Co., Napinka, Man. Postmarked MacGregor, Man., December 25, 1908.

Scene Details:

  • Three large wooden grain elevators receding along the railway line from right to left
  • Tallest elevator in the right foreground with distinctive hip roof cupola
  • Middle elevator with "Northern Elevator" signage partially visible
  • Railway freight car No. 35506 on the siding beside the elevators
  • Second freight car visible further down the track
  • Brick railway station building at lower right
  • Telegraph poles and signal equipment lining the left side of the tracks
  • Flat prairie horizon stretching into the distance
  • Sepia-tone real photo print on postcard stock
  • Caption reads: "Elevators, MacGregor. No. 814."

Back: Divided back RPPC format. "POST CARD" header. "Photo Post Card by Winnipeg Photo. Co., Napinka, Man." printed vertically on left margin. "For Inland Postage only this Space may be used for Communications" and "THE ADDRESS ONLY TO BE WRITTEN HERE" printed. King Edward VII Canadian 1-cent green stamp affixed. Postmarked MacGregor, Man., Dec 25, 1908. Pencil notation "MacGregor, Man." at top. Handwritten message dated Dec 24/08: "Dear Nelli: Received your letter today. Will send to you in a day or two. Love and Best Wishes from all. Mother." Addressed to Mrs. L.W. Skinner, Alexander, Man., Box 85.
