Bob Foster was a professional boxer, turned trainer and then went on to train many athletes in the Victoria British Columbia area near the beginning of the 20th century. He was inducted into the Greater Victoria Sports Hall of Fame in 2003.
Bob's headstone at Ross Bay Cemetery says it all: "An athlete who devoted a residence of 20 years to the development of the young men of Victoria in the form of manly exercise." ~ from the Greater Victoria Sports Hall of Fame website.
